Ellie Watt Yoga & Reiki
Meet Ellie
I began practicing yoga about 10 years ago, and around the same time I also delved into the healing magic of Reiki, gaining my Reiki level 1. After attending weekly ashtanga classes with one of the original ashtanga master teachers and doing a lot of online yoga, I quickly came to the realisation that I wanted to teach it to others. However, it wasn’t until 4 years later after the birth of my first child, that I did my teacher training.

Becoming a mother motivated me to focus on developing my home yoga practice (as I struggled to get to any real life classes), and it became a necessity to my physical and mental wellbeing. It gave me much needed sacred time to myself (although my yoga practice is often sweetly shared with my children), and time to reconnect to my body-mind alongside who I was when I wasn’t being ‘mum’ or feeling overwhelmed with the business of life. Yoga, meditation, Reiki and ritual practices are all essential parts of my life, whether that’s a 5 minute stretch and a few deep breaths in the morning, or an hour long yoga session and ritual bath.
Being grounded, at peace, and nourished by the knowledge that you’re gifting to yourself by prioritising your own needs and time is what I encourage my clients to do for themselves too. I know how it feels to go day to day with constant demands on your time and on your very being. It seems like life is just so busy and overwhelming for most people now, whether that’s family life, your business or job, and then all the others bits on top. I want to give you the tools and inspiration to slow down, reconnect and find calm amongst it all.

I’m originally from the West Midlands, and have lived in various towns and countries; I’m now based in the heart of the National Forest, in the town of Ashby-de-la-Zouch. A relationship with the changing seasons and the natural world has always been an integral aspect of my life, and this approach now informs my yoga and Reiki practice. As well as the physical practice of yoga I also enjoy other forms of movement such as hoop dancing, martial arts and pilates.
